Arnold Chase is having a mansion built for him that will make it the biggest private home in all of New England. The house will have an observatory, five bedrooms, five half bathrooms, and eight full bathrooms. There will be a game room in "one" of the basements that will be twice as big as the average house size. Obviously people are questioning whether it is morally right to build a home this big.
People argue that there are homeless people and people with very small houses that hardly get by. So the social concerns are there.
There are two other residential buildings in New England that are larger. They are now museaums.
Arnold Chase's mansion was designed by an architectural firm in New York owned by Allan Greenberg. The same company that worked on the White House.
Chase is building his home up on Avon mountain.
